Canada Student Visa Application Process
A student visa is required to study in Canada. This visa allows foreign students to stay and study in an academic, professional or vocational program at a university, public or private college, public or private secondary school, or private ESL/FSL language school accredited by the Canadian government.

If you are enrolled in an English or French language program that lasts less than six months and is not an academic, professional or vocational program, you do not need a student visa to enter Canada on a short term entry visa (tourist visa / ETA). If you are applying for a program that lasts longer than three months and you intend to stay in Canada for more than six months and extend your student visa, you must apply for a student visa and undergo a medical examination prior to travelling to Canada to study. Under normal circumstances, a minimum of 8 to 12 weeks is allowed for visa processing.

How to Apply for a Student Visa

STEP 1

Browse the college's website and choose the right college in terms of quality of education, ranking, course structure, course fees, and other facilities for international students. Once you have made your choice, fill out the application form for the college of your choice. During the application process for admission, you will need to submit a number of documents. This includes proof of your previous education, a copy of your passport, and proof of English language proficiency. Then wait to receive your acceptance letter (LOA).
